Nature Imagined December 01 - January 21 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM You are invited to Nature Imagined, a special exhibition that celebrates nature through the vivid imaginations of Cheryl Medow, Ellen Jewett, and Hilary Brace. Inspired by nature, these artists use diverse materials and methods to create environments that engage the imagination. The viewer is invited to look into the details of their artwork and explore the unique weaving of image, texture, and pattern that resembles nature and yet is unlike anything in the natural world. Photographer Cheryl Medow uses composite digital photography to create intriguing images of birds that make the viewer take a second and a third look to digest the full scene. Some are humorous, others majestic, all fascinating.Ellen Jewett lives in British Columbia and loaned a piece to our recent Animals A to Z exhibition. After seeing everyone’s fascination with her detailed, delicate sculptures we knew we needed to show more of her work. She will be loaning eight pieces to Nature Imagined. Hilary Brace of Santa Barbara uses charcoal, graphite and digital mediums to create monochrome, dramatic and imagined landscapes. The Art of Travel December 01 - December 31 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM ARTIST RECEPTION SATURDAY DECEMBER 1, 1-4 PM GALLERY OPEN 5 - 7 PM ARTISTS WILL BE AT GALLERY UNTIL CLOSING TO COINCIDE WITH LOS OLIVOS EVENT - "OLDE FASHIONED CHRISTMAS AND HOLIDAY MARKET George Rose and Felice Willat, artist/members with Gallery Los Olivos, will debut a month-long photography exhibit entitled The Art of Travel in the front room at Gallery Los Olivos beginning Saturday, December 1. Both of the artists will feature traditional photographic print-on-paper images as well as dye sublimation prints on aluminum. The exhibit will be up the entire month, closing on Monday, December 31.

8th Annual Holiday Boutique December 02 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Celebrating the holiday season, the Wildling Museum is hosting its 8th Annual Holiday Boutique on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Admission is free from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with a special members only preview at 12 pm. Browse local artists and craftspeople to find unique gifts or something special for yourself. Booths will be placed throughout the museum so you can also enjoy the exhibitions! Carolers will add to the festive atmosphere, along with free cider and cookies and a photo opportunity with the Wildling holiday décor. Support the arts by buying directly from the artists, and support a local nonprofit as well, dedicated to bringing the art of nature to our community. Special holiday and unique gift items will be available for sale in the museum store through the month of December. Wildling members enjoy a 15% discount on non-consignment items for sale at the museum store all year around. Wildling Museum & Abstract Art Collective Present Nature Abstracted December 05 - February 04 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM The Wildling Museum in Solvang is collaborating with the Santa Barbara based Abstract Art Collective to produce Nature Abstracted. This show features work from the Abstract Art Collective (AAC), a Santa Barbara community-based group of artists. Abstract art challenges the artist and audience to mine the depths of emotion and intellect—to journey far from real world imagery and into the imagination. In this exhibit you will see the artists’ response to various aspects of nature experiences—responses they’ve chosen to share. Nature Abstracted is an exquisite and intimate exhibition to be enjoyed by all ages, and at many levels. There are 29 works by 18 artists, accompanied by wall placards describing each work as to medium and thought process in the work’s production. Jim Rice is the co-founder of the Lompoc Valley Beekeepers Association and a UCCE certified master gardener. Jim’s presentation will cover the origin of the honey bee, beehive social structure, how to become a beekeeper and a discussion on challenges in modern beekeeping. 40th Anniversary Celebration! December 08 - December 09 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM Enjoy two celebrations in one holiday concert when the Santa Ynez Valley Master Chorale, youth ensemble, professional orchestra and special guests present a "twofer" - a joyful program of classical (and not so classical) holiday music celebrating Christmas and the Chorale's 40th anniversary.
